i am a slacker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but i have been doing a bit. I finished the gifts for the family, yes they are a month late.

Last month I signed up for WAY to many swaps and I just finished the last one.. thank god. Now I have free time to make stuff for me. The last one was a bollywood themed swap.. and was kinda fun. I got to dig though all the junk I brought back from India, which was super fun. I made some cards and a book/journal type thing. You cant really tell from the picture but that is one of the best books I have make in a while, structurally speaking.

Photos from the weekend

I spent most of the weekend indoors, with occasional outing so as not to lose my mind. I took the fist photo so i can remember what you can do in a space the size of a shoe box. Photo number two was taken in the window of my 9th floor apartment. I'm am amazed that bugs get up this high. During the summer there were tons of huge dragon flies buzzing around outside my window. Anyway, thought this guy was beautiful and scary at the same time.

New painting!

Yesterday I got to paint and it made me feel so good. I'm in the process of getting the sketches that I did a few months ago onto canvas.. so maybe I can get my act together and put them up somewhere. This is the first one, and is very small. In the the sketches I used photocopy transfers but in the painting..i just painted everything.

I used a heavier paper to back these stars and they were much easier to make. I love the little pink and white one.

I was taking a picture and Britt found these wonderful running guys. Once one was found we noticed they were everywhere. Unfortunately the battery died on my camera, but got a couple of killer pictures.

Why oh why is vacation never long enough. It was wonderful to hang with my pals, eat great Italian food, find more interesting murals in Hongdae, and have time to craft.

I finished the silly DIY photo frame set. I love it, so silly. Made some more books, surprise surprise. A gal that i met on craftster came over on Sunday and i taught her how to make books. Now she is going to teach me how to crochet

Last night i tried my hand at making these paper stars. Next time i need to reinforce the paper a bit to make all the cutting and gluing a bit easier. However, all and all quite pleased with the results. A good way to use all the fancy paper here in Korea!

gus was in crazy mode last night

I don't know why, but Gus was going crazy last night. See the second picture. I hate it when he chews on the bars like that.. he looks mental. The first is a begging pose; he knows i will give him sunflower seeds.

ATC's and crazy korean tv

I spent way too much time last weekend watching tv and consequently not making much. Basically, i only get one full english language channel, the american armed forces channel. needless to say this results in some pretty bazaar propaganda. the height of weirdness occurred late on friday night when the reporter came on and said "congratulations you have made it to the weekend". this struck me as strange and maybe a bit insensitive when you are broadcasting to folks that are part of a group of people that run a higher risk of .. not making it to the weekend.

during the strange ads and shows about dead people i did mange to finish a few atc's and do some major cleaning.

for a crafty chuseok

I am getting stuff together so I can be super crafty over chuseok, the Korean equivalent of thanksgiving. The the killer, super cute DIY sets i found at a local stationary store, and a few of the book insides that i have put together.. because the fun part is making the covers and i want to leave that for later.

they need to go in the MAIL

I have had these for weeks.. sitting on my table, and I have people to send them to.... it's the post office block i have going on. Monday i will MAIL.

from the weekend

I think i finished this little book last weekend.. and i need to get it in the mail. It is sometimes so hard to make it to the post office. The pages on the inside are all of the yellow paper that is on the spine.
